World Taekwondo Virtual General Assembly

Nepal Taekwondo Association’s President Mr. Prakash Shumsher Rana attended the World Taekwondo Virtual General Assembly on 6th October 2020. There was more than 300 delegates’ participation from 137 Member National Associations making this the largest General Assembly in WT history.

Furthermore, WT will continue to inspire and promote fair play and integrity, both on and off the mat.

However, this meeting will help for the betterment of taekwondo in Nepal.

विश्व तेक्वान्दो एशिया स्ट्यान्डीङ्घ कमिटीले आफ्ना विभिन्न उमसमितीमा २२ नेपालीलाई चयन गरेको छ । नेपाल तेक्वान्दो संघले गरेको सिफारिसको आधारमा उनीहरुलाई चयन गरिएको हो । सल्लाहाकार कमिटीमा नेपाल तेक्वान्दो संघका उपाध्यक्ष सञ्जिव रेग्मी चयन भएका छन् । यसैगरी, उपाध्यक्ष हरिश्वर पोख्रेल इथीक कमिटीमा,उपाध्यक्ष भोज बहादुर शाह शिक्षा कमिटीमा, उपाध्यक्ष न्यायीक कमिटीमा नन्द कुमार राई, उपाध्यक्ष दिल बहादुर वली नेतृत्व कमिटीमा, तथा उपाध्यक्ष भानु बहादुर चन्द मार्केटिङ कमिटीमा चयन भएका छन् । कोषाध्यक्ष कसिम मिया धोवी पारालम्पिक कमिटीमा तथा मुख्य प्रशिक्षक तथा संघका सचिव नविन कुमार श्रेष्ठ ग्योरोगी कमिटीमा रहेका छन् । सह कोषााध्यक्ष सुमन कुमार घले आर्थिक कमिटीमा रहेका छन् । यसैगरी, डा. सरोजकृष्ण श्रेष्ठ एन्टी डोपीङ तथा मेडिकल कमिटीमा र संघका सचिव दिपक विष्ट एथलेटिक्स कमिटीमा छन् ।
क्याडेट कमिटीमा सहायक मुख्य प्रशिक्षक संगीना बैद्य, प्रशिक्षक कमिटीमा श्रीमान थापा मगर,कोलिगेट कमिटीमा भरत मर्हजन तथा विकास कमिटीमा कविराज खड्गी रहेका छन् । खेल कमिटीमा हिरा बहादुर थापा , मिडिया कमिटीमा हेमन्त डाँगी, पुम्से कमिटीमा मिन न्यौपाने, सस्टेबेनलीटी कमिटीमा टिका प्रसाद लिम्बू, प्राविधिक कमिटीमा नोर्बु लामा, महिला कमिटीमा नन्दा बस्याल र युवा कमिटीमा कोशिस बहादुर खड्का चयन भए ।
कमिटीमा चयन हुनेलाई नेपाल तेक्वान्दो संघका अध्यक्ष प्रकाश शम्शेर राणाज्यूले बिहिबार प्रमाणपत्र वितरण गर्नुभयो ।

Nepal Shows Supremacy in Taekwondo at 13th South Asian Games written by World Taekwondo

Nepal showed its supremacy in taekwondo at the 13th South Asian Games as it clinched 12 gold medals out of a total of 29 golds at stake.

India came next with nine gold medals in taekwondo poomsae and kyorugi competitions, followed by Sri Lanka with four golds, Pakistan with 3 golds and Bangladesh with one gold.

For the first time ever in the history of the South Asian Games, taekwondo poomsae made its debut at the 13the edition of the South Asian Games, which was held at the Nepal Taekwondo Academy in Kathmandu.

In terms of the number of overall gold medals, taekwondo finished third with 29 gold medals up for grabs, after Swimming with 38 golds and athletics with 36 golds.

For fair judging and refereeing, World Taekwondo dispatched a technical director for the regional taekwondo competition for the first time.

“We are very happy with the taekwondo results and our Nepal taekwondo team showed to the world our strength in taekwondo. The competition was conducted with no judging controversies with the support of World Taekwondo,” said Mr. Prakash Shumsher Rana, president of the Nepal Taekwondo Association.

Host Nepal stood at second in the overall medal tally at the 13th South Asian Games, which started on December 1, 2019 and concluded on December 10 in Kathmandu and Pokhara, with 51 golds, 60 silvers and 95 bronzes, while India finished at top of the medal tally with 174 golds, 93 silvers and 45 bronzes.

The South Asian Games is a biennial regional multi-sport event with the participation of seven countries: India, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, the Maldives and Bhutan.

MOU Sign between NTA and and Tibet Taekwondo Association

  • On 17th January under the chairmanship of Acting President Er. Sanjiv Regmi, a meeting was held for framework agreement on exchange and co-operation between Nepal’s Nepal Taekwondo Association and China’s Tibet Autonomous Taekwondo Association at National Taekwondo Academy, Satdobato, Lalitpur.
